The Bronze Exhibit
An International Group Exhibit in Milan, Italy
When this exhibit was conceived, Johann expressed genuine enthusiasm that we were going to be working as a collective, and he was eager to participate. The work he slected for this exhibit is dripped molted materials including copper mixes, brass, bronze, etc. triangular pieces from a series from 1972. This selection relates to process, but visually has a reference to geological landscapes.
Johann has worked in molten metal for years, and taught sculpture at the University of Central Florida. He has been affiliated with Orlando since the early 1950’s. Originally from Iceland, he represented his native country at the 45th Venice Biennale. Internationally, Eyfells was included in the 9-museum traveling exhibition ‘What Nature Provides’, and the United Nations exhibit ‘World Artists in the Millennium’.
Included artists were Johann Eyfells, R.V. Robin Van Arsdol, David Cumbie, Cheryl Bogdanowitsch, Dean Warren, Harry Messersmith, Calvert Lafollette, Lynn and John Whipple.
